Live carrier inventory, updated every minute.
A local number shows a nearby area code, which is what most people call back. Toll-free costs your customer nothing to call and reads as national. Either one is included in the $29.
They all work the same way and cost the same. 800 has been handed out since the 1960s, so very little is still free in it. The newer prefixes are where toll-free numbers actually come from now.
Available numbers
These are live at the carrier and first come, first served. Claiming one holds it for 15 minutes while you check out.
Held for you
Nobody else on DialRingo can take this number while your hold is running.
You are sent to Stripe to pay. Card required, no free trial. $29 per user per month with taxes and fees included, billed monthly, cancel anytime and the unused part of the month is prorated back. By continuing you agree to the terms of service and the privacy policy.
Number search is not available right now
We could not reach the number lookup. Nothing has been charged and nothing has been reserved.
Email support@dialringo.com with the area code you want and we will set the number up with you by hand, usually the same business day. You can also start your account and choose a number from inside it.
Keeping a number you already have does not need this search at all: .
Bring your number with you
Moving a number to DialRingo is free, and your current line keeps working the whole time. We cannot start it from this page: a transfer has to belong to an account and be signed by the person named on the phone bill. Tell us the number and we will carry it into your signup.
What actually happens
- You create your account. There is no way round this one: the transfer has to belong to an account before anyone can file it.
- You fill in the transfer form. It asks for exactly what your current provider has on file: the account number, the service address the way they bill it, the account holder's legal name, and the transfer PIN if your provider uses one.
- You sign the authorization by typing your name. That letter is what we hand your current provider to prove the move is yours to make.
- Your current provider sets the switch date. Most transfers finish in 5 to 15 business days. We show you the date as soon as they give it to us, and your old line keeps working right up to it.
- The number lands in DialRingo and calls start arriving in your browser.
- Bringing a number in is free. So is taking it back out again later if you ever leave.
- Cancelling after your current provider has already accepted the transfer can cost $10 per number, so we ask you to confirm before we start.
- Providers reject transfers over small mismatches, usually the address or the account number. If yours comes back rejected we show you their exact words, what those words mean, and the one thing to change.
- Sending texts from a transferred number still waits on carrier registration, exactly as it does on a new number.
Would rather we ran it with you? Email support@dialringo.com and a person will pick it up.
Number first, paperwork never
No sales call, no quote, no equipment to buy. The whole thing is one checkout.
Pick the number
Search an area code or a city and choose from what the carrier actually has right now. Your pick is held for 15 minutes.
Pay once, at Stripe
One hosted checkout creates your account and starts your subscription. We never see your card. $29 per user per month, taxes and fees included.
Answer in the browser
The number is bought and pointed at your account as soon as the payment clears. Sign in and the softphone is already ringing.
If the carrier loses the number between your payment and our purchase, which is rare but possible, your subscription stays exactly as it is and we show you a list of replacements straight away. You are never charged twice and you never end up paying for nothing.
What the $29 covers
Everything below is in the price. There is no feature tier to upgrade into to get a working phone system.
- One number per user, local or toll-free
- Unlimited US and Canada calling, fair use
- Browser softphone, no handset to buy
- Ring groups, menus, business hours, transfers
- Voicemail with AI transcription and call notes
- Video meetings from the same login
- Business texting (carrier registration required, see below)
- Free porting in and out, taxes and fees included
Extra numbers are $5 per month each. International calling is opt-in and prepaid, so a surprise toll bill is not possible. 911 is activated once you register a physical service address, and it carries the limits that apply to every VoIP service: read the 911 disclosure.
Calling is instant. Texting is not.
US carriers will not let any provider send business texts from a new number until the business behind it is registered. That is an industry rule, not a DialRingo policy, and no provider can skip it.
Calling, voicemail, routing
Your number is live as soon as it provisions. Make and take calls, set your hours, build your menu, record your greeting. Inbound texting also works immediately once messaging is switched on for the number, so a customer who texts you will reach you.
Outbound texting
Sending texts waits on carrier registration (10DLC): your legal business details go to the carriers for approval. Approval commonly takes several days and can take weeks, and the carriers can come back with questions. We prompt you for the details after signup and file it for you. Nothing about that blocks your phone service in the meantime.
$29 is the number on the bill
$29 per user, per month
Taxes and fees included, so the total is the price. No setup fee, no regulatory recovery fee, no E911 surcharge, no contract. Cancel monthly and the rest of the cycle is prorated back to you. Prefer to pay yearly? That is $22 per user per month on the pricing page, and you can switch after signup.
Questions people ask right before paying
Is there a free trial?
No. A phone number is a real thing we buy from a carrier the moment you claim it, so the card is required up front. What you get instead of a trial is a month you can cancel: cancel any time and the unused part of the cycle is prorated back.
How long does the number stay held?
15 minutes from the moment you pick it, and the clock is on screen. That hold stops other DialRingo visitors from taking it. It is not a carrier reservation, so in the rare case that the carrier releases it elsewhere in that window we tell you immediately and help you pick again.
What if the number cannot be bought after I pay?
It is rare, and it is handled out loud rather than quietly. Your payment and your subscription stay intact, you are not charged again, our team is alerted, and your dashboard shows the failure with a list of replacement numbers you can claim on the spot at no extra cost.
Can I keep my existing number instead?
Yes, and it is free both ways: free to bring in, free to take back out if you ever leave. Choose I already have a number I want to keep at the top of this page and we carry the number into your signup. We cannot start the transfer from an anonymous page, because it has to belong to an account and be signed by the person named on the current bill.
Most transfers finish in 5 to 15 business days. Your current provider sets the switch date, we show it to you the moment they give it to us, and your old line keeps working right up to that day. You can also email support and a person will run it with you.
Local or toll-free, which should I pick?
Local if your customers are nearby: a familiar area code gets called back more often. Toll-free if you sell across the country or want to read as national, since it costs your customer nothing to call. Both are included in the $29 and both can send texts once your business is registered with the carriers.
There are seven toll-free prefixes: 800, 833, 844, 855, 866, 877 and 888. They are equivalent. 800 has been in use since the 1960s so almost nothing is free in it, which is why most new toll-free numbers come out of the newer prefixes.
When can I send texts?
Receiving texts works as soon as messaging is enabled on your number. Sending waits on carrier registration, which usually takes several days and sometimes weeks. We ask for your business details after you are set up and file the registration for you. Anyone who promises you instant outbound business texting on a brand new number is not telling you how the US carriers work.
What do I need to make calls?
A computer or phone with a modern browser and a headset or microphone. The softphone runs in the browser, and you can also forward calls to any existing phone. Desk phone (SIP hardware) support is not available yet.
Does 911 work?
911 service is activated once you register a physical service address for your number, and it carries the limitations that apply to every VoIP service: it may be unavailable during a power or internet outage, and your registered address is what dispatchers rely on. Read the full 911 disclosure.
Can I add more people later?
Yes. Seats are $29 each per month and you add or remove them from the dashboard. Extra numbers beyond one per user are $5 per month each.
Your number is sitting there right now.
Pick it, pay once, and start answering. About two minutes end to end.
